Description

VINTAGE DORNEY PARK WOODEN TICKET BOOTH SIGN - ONE OF A KIND 1980-1983 ALLENTOWN.
HISTORY:
In 1980, Dorney Park Road, once known as the "state highway" to Reading, was closed to traffic traveling through the center of the Park. This led to the enclosure of the Park by fence and the addition a "pay one price" all-day ride pass admission fee with bracelets.  The electro-hydraulic swing Sea Dragon was also added during this year.
1983, a major fire burned many of Dorney Park's attractions, including Bucket of Blood and the 1916 Philadelphia Toboggan Carousel. That year, "Zoorama" Zoo was also closed permanently.
This sign is super RARE and as far as I know, a one-of-a-kind must have piece of Dorney's history.  I worked there at the gates and grabbed it before they were going to throw it away.  The sign dates to 1980 - 1983 (1980 is when the .00 general admission pay one price started and 1983 was when the zoo closed.)
I've proudly displayed it for over 40 years.
It is a one-sided "painted look" laminate on wood and has some water marks, scuffing and the screw holes got worn out over time.  See photos.
The sign is 20" x 12" x 1/4" and weighs
2 lbs
Condition is "Used".  See photos for wear & tear. . Shipped with USPS First Class insured.
