Life Size Vintage Wood Carousel Lion Antique Replica Merry Go Round

This lion is beautiful and huge.  As the picturesshow he is massive and elaborately carved with cherubs, drapings, arrows,leafed scrolling, raised and indented carving. Hopefully, my pictures highlighthis handsome appearance.  He would make a beautiful, unique showpiece inyour home or majestic showpiece in your shop or business; beautifully paintedwith excellent shading; glass eyes, and a height 48", length 62"width 16”, and weight about 175 pounds.  Could be more or less, I have noway to weigh him. He would make an exquisite addition for that avid Carouselcollector, and a wonderful addition to an established collection.  Just toemphasize the quality of my Lion, Alec, the greyhound, is an animal from thesame estate that I purchased all of my Carousel Animals from.  And, Alechas been installed on the Eldridge Park Preservation Society Carousel. This group of carousel lovers, have lovingly resurrected this Carousel. Here's the link to see this gorgeous Greyhound. http://www.eldridgepark.us/carousel/finished_pieces/Alec.html.
In the 1970's, perhaps as a result of America'sBicentennial, there was a wonderful resurrection in American Carousel items.Hand-carved carousel animals regained a new appreciation. To the best of myknowledge this lion was carved at the height of this period, the 1980’s. It wasoriginally purchased by an avid collector. I purchased him from herestate.  It’s time to downsize.  I know that three years ago, thissame lion was purchased on eBay for over five thousand dollars.  Duringthis time period, I sold an extremely similar lion to this one, for fourthousand dollars, on eBay.  A new top notch carving of this size wouldcost more than ten thousand dollars.  He is carved of wood, not fiberglasor plastic resin.  Many of the carousel animals I see on eBay areobviously inferior, just pieces, screwed together at the joints. I sold anotherextremely similar lion to this one, and the buyer told me, that my pictures didnot do his new Lion justice. But, everyone who has purchased the pieces from mycollection that I have sold, have been more than pleased.  Because of hisage, he does have some minor stress cracks.  He is very, very stable, andin wonderful condition!  Please view my feedback.  He is
