  • Condition: Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. There are a couple of places where small amounts of glaze were not placed for highlight effect, mainly toenails. It could be from wear. There are other spots, a few on the back of the head, and more near the base, where very small spots of white are showing through. They are rub marks being right where someone would pick it up by. It's from time though. The glaze is solid and it does not rub off easily. I went over it carefully looking for chips because the surface is very uneven to simulate carved wood. No chips, no cracks, and I'll make sure it stays that way til it arrives at your door. The bottom has been plugged with what looks like concrete. There are remnants of what appears to be a felt bottom that is no longer there.

    Description

    This guy is just really cute.  He has an incised mark at the base Universal Statuary Co, dated 1972 and has a mold number.  Stands 10-1/4" tall.  The details on this one are fantastic!  It looks like carved wood with a dark stain with deep creases and folds.  Don't know how they were able to do this one in a mold unless they went back and hand carved into the ceramic before firing.  With the wood grain finish it really does look like a carving.  He's a little darker in normal room light than what the pictures show.  I flood the room with full spectrum lighting and wanted to show detail.
