This is a genuine, custom designed & handmade amusement park sponsor sign.
Remember the golden years of Kodak? :) For many years, this legendary & iconic American company was synonymous with the world of photography; for Baby Boomers, the nostalgic era of 110 & 126 Instamatic cameras and film is but a fond and distant memory now, "gone with the wind"
with the advent & rise of digital photography and iPhones in the early 2000's.
During its heyday, The Kodak Company loved to sponsor things- especially World's Fairs & Amusement Parks! This particular sign indicated an especially scenic spot in amusement parks across the USA where one could snap a colorful & memorable photo of the whole family that would inevitably find a cherished place in the family vacation scrapbook.
Oops! Forgot to bring your camera or film along? No problem- in the close proximately of this sign, Kodak inevitably would have a convenient "Kodak Kiosk" that just happened to be filled with your favorite Kodak film, disposable cameras (remember those?), and, of course, a host of other Kodak Camera accessories such as photo albums and camera cases.
Designed & created in-house by master sign artists, this is more than just signage; it is a unique and classic display piece of nostalgic Americana with a rich & colorful history all its own!
