ANTIQUE BLOODHOUND & ENGLISH GORDON SETTER METAL DOG MODEL LECOURTIER 1855-1925

Description

This is a pair of superb original antique metal models featuring a head study of a Bloodhound and a matching study of an English or possible Gordon Setter, dating to circa 1910 mounted on their original onyx bases, in very good condition but there is slight chipping to the top of the onyx part of the bookends, signed on the collar by the artist Prosper Lecourtier, (who worked from 1855-1925) these are much better quality detailed models than are normally encountered, overall size of each bookend is approx. 8" high x 5 wide" the dogs themselves are approx. 6" high, These are a pair of heavy rare antique dog models, probably used as bookends.
