1970 Yamaha AT1-B 125 Enduro

This 1970 AT1-B is a very nice original and roadworthy survivor from the 1970 lineup for the venerable Yamaha Enduro models. It starts up, idles, and runs just like new with no unusual engine noises or any quirks. I've owned the bike for several years and have never experienced any kind of malfunction at all. If you are indeed a vintage Yamaha Enduro enthusiast, you already know how reliable these bikes are and how easy they are to service.
This machine is definitely original and everything functions normally, EXCEPT, the electric starter.
In years past, a previous owner disconnected the electric starter and removed the solenoid from beneath the fuel tank. In practice, the electric starter added weight to the bike and requires a 12 volt battery to even run. I like the basic engineering for the era, but Yamaha dropped the electric starter in the later 1970’s models in their entire Enduro lineup. All of the other Yamaha Enduros have regular kickstarters.
Most people have no problem starting the bike with the normal kickstarter and it is not objectionable in regular day to day operation.
That said, the bike starts from cold with one or two kicks and runs very strong and pulls smoothly through all 5 gears. The clutch does not slip or chatter. The oil injection system is fully functional and works like a champ.
The entire electrical system is original, save for the the starter solenoid being removed at some point in the bikes life before I bought it. The headlight has a fully functional high and low beam, the horn still sounds like the day the bike was manufactured, and the brake lights work perfectly as do the brakes themselves.
The tires appear to be factory original and are in excellent condition with no cracking or weather checking readily visible.  I am not quite a Yamaha “guru”, but the tires are Yokohama if I am not mistaken. I thought that Nitto tires were the standard factory items, but, I am not an expert.
It is a very nice machine for being 53 years old and although I am not trying to extoll the virtues of the machine itself, I am trying to be realistic about it and for potential buyers the bike IS NOT a project bike, nor a “trailer queen” for show purposes only.
This is a rare and vintage Yamaha 125 Enduro and it is intended to be ridden and enjoyed by someone who is familiar with the bike and will appreciate its overall excellent mechanical condition.
The fuel tank has some minor chips and scratches in the paint, but, again, let’s be realistic about the bike. The seat is original and has zero tears or rips and the photos reflect that.

At 53 years old, the bike is solid and reliable enough to be ridden on a daily basis if you like and if it were used to get you to and from work locally, it would be very economical to own, insure, and operate.
