    Description

The YM2C is a 5-speed, two cylinder two stroke with Scrambler high pipes and handlebars. A classy, fun-to-ride scrambler from the 60s that always draws comments. It's in great condition but not a restoration. It starts, runs, and shifts well (see video below). It has nimble handling for a 1960s bike, and it's much quicker than the 305s from Honda and Suzuki. Titled, licensed, and registered in my name in Colorado. I purchased this bike 5 years ago from the 2nd owner who bought it in 1976. Actual mileage is unknown (original speedo was missing when I got it).
Good points - Numbers match. Crank and oil pump were rebuilt ~4000 miles ago, when it got new rings, seals, bearings, clutch plates, and frame bearings. No leaks other than the typical oil pump seepage and 2-stroke drool. Fuel and oil tanks free of rust. Has aftermarket tire pump mounted under tank. Seat recovered with new foam with YAMAHA logo. New battery, all electrical and speedo/tachometer work well. Tires good but rear will need replacement in a few 1000 miles. Frame and swingarm are powder coated. Original oil and gas dipsticks included. Engine is on STD size bore and pistons. Sprockets and chain were upgraded to 530 size. Because stripped exhaust threads were common on the YM2's aluminum cylinders, both cylinder exhaust threads have been repaired with steel thread inserts (see photos). MANY spares included, see list below. Sale includes service manual and parts manual with substitutions, and files with service bulletins and the like.
Bad points (see photos of these) - Before I bought it, the chain had parted and broke off a small piece of the rt engine case, which I repaired with JB Weld. Repair was done properly and has ~4000 miles on it without any leaks. There is a small weld repair to part of the seam of rt exhaust pipe outlet tube. The rear fender is slightly dented and has 2 extra holes. There is a small dent in rear rim. Tool kit and turn signals are not original. Paint is fair. The chrome is fair to good, several places are worn or scratched. Lt side heat shield has a small crack, and its worn where the kickstarter rubbed against it. No warranty, bike is as is.
Spares (see photos): NEW- one wheel set of brake shoes, OEM air cleaner, 2nd oversize piston kit (2 pistons, rings, small end bearings, pins and circlips), 2 sets of points, condensers. USED- good pair of connecting rods and misc other parts.
