These connectors are for use with
RG-8X (mini8), RG-59,
LMR-240, RFC-240
and many coax cables in the

series with single braid or foil/braid shielding.

Mechanical:
Superior quality construction consisting of an 80-micron non-tarnishing nickel plated brass body & crimp ferrule for a lifetime of protection and brilliant luster, and a 40-micron silver plated center pin.

is the dielectric known for its inert properties, permittivity, strength, and higher withstanding voltages over a wide range of frequencies and temperatures.
The center pin is made to be crimped and/or soldered. It can be crimped or soldered or both.
Crimping the connector body to the coax eliminates the chance of damaging the coa
x with heat e
specially if using LMR Type or other low loss cables. The new low loss coax cables use
gas injected polyethylene dielectric which
is very sensitive to heat. Over heat it while soldering the braid to the connector body on a
non crimp type connector
and
the foam insulator can  easily distort and melt which results in damage to the cable causing chara
c
teristic
impedance changes of the coax.
Crimp it and forget damage caused by
heat.
