Silver PL-259 type UHF Crimp packaged connectors.
These connectors may be used with RG-8, RG-213, Belden 8214, Belden 9913, LMR-400 and all other coax cables in the RG-8 family with ~ .405-in. OD Jacket. Personal, friendly and fast shipping service is also included.
Coax braid to connector body fitment is by crimping. Recommended die cavity size is .429.
Crimping the coax braid to the connector body, eliminates the chance of damaging the coa
x with heat when using conventional solder type PL-259's; e
specially if using LMR-400 or other 400 series low loss cables. The new low loss coax cables use
a gas injected polyethylene (
foam
) dielectric which
is very sensitive to heat. Over heat it while soldering the braid to the connector body on a
non crimp type connector
and
the foam insulator can easily distort and melt damaging the cable by altering the chara
c
teristic
impedance of the coax.
The center pin may be crimped only, soldered only, or crimped + soldered.
Crimp it and forget damage caused by
heat.

Additionally, with your purchase we include the factory data sheet including the connector drawing, recommended coax cable striping dimensions, recommended crimp tool die cavity sizes and a sufficient length of polyolefin 2:1 ratio heat shrink tubing to add ~ 1-inch length to each connector. All this will aid in making precise, professional looking fitments, resulting in many years of reliable service.
